Faced with the alarming signs of the global environmental crisis - climate change, the collapse of biodiversity, soil degradation, widespread pollution, tensions over energy and raw materials - we are pinning our hopes on 'green' technologies and digital technology. However, these new technologies consume more scarce resources, are more difficult to recycle and are too complex, leading us to a dead end.
