"This book traces with seriousness but without tedium the tormented yet exciting life of one of the greatest Frenchmen of all time."

The destiny of A. Escoffier (1846-1935) who, from being a simple clerk, became one of the first great modern chefs. With César Ritz, whose meeting was decisive, he created palaces and invented the model of French luxury. Erecting gastronomy as an art, he redesigned the organization of the kitchens and created emblematic recipes such as the crêpe Suzette and the Peach Melba. ©Electre 2020
